 Synopsis

Music Technology  A combination of music and cutting-edge technology lies at the heart of two research projects undertaken in the South West of England.

At the Arts Institute at Bournemouth, research students have been testing and producing content for a prototype audio-visual product called the DVJ-X1.Developed by Pioneer, the product combines video mixing with traditional DJ-ing to produce a full audio-visual performance fully controlled from the same decks.

And at Bath Spa University College, a multimedia educational package is being developed for the National Curriculum. “The Music Key” - set to revolutionise the teaching of music and music technology in schools - is the work of Bath Spa’s Cendia (the Centre for Digital and Interactive Audio) in a joint venture with Sound Technology plc and is designed both for teachers and pupils of all ages.
