 Synopsis

Kings College London Tests OlympiansThe Drug Control Centre at King’s College London is the only International Olympic Committee (IOC) accredited laboratory in the UK to analyse urine samples from sports competitors, and will be undertaking the pre-games drug testing for the 2004 Olympic Games to be held in Athens.

The Centre will undertake the testing as part of UK Sport’s anti-doping programme. This is the most comprehensive pre-Games testing programme ever for the UK Team and there will be at least one drug test on every member of the British Olympic squad before the start of the games.

There are only 30 such accredited laboratories in the world and as well as being contracted to undertake all the urine analysis for UK Sport’s Anti-Doping Programme it regularly undertakes analysis for sports organisations outside the UK.
