Football (Soccer) may be the "beautiful
game" but it's also, increasingly, about big business and the
new breed of manager knows this – and is now preparing to
battle it out in the boardrooms as well as on the pitch.
Ten more managers and potential managers have signed up to join
the unique Warwick Business School course from which new Leeds
Manager Kevin Blackwell, Manchester City Coach Stuart Pearce and
Wycombe Wanderers' manager and ex England captain, Tony Adams, will
graduate this summer.
The University of Warwick Business School was commissioned by
the Professional Footballers Association, the League Managers
Association, the Football Association, the Premier League and the
Football League to provide a qualification to sit alongside the
mandatory UEFA Pro Licence.
The Certificate in Applied Management in football course is
designed to provide them with the business and personal management
skills they will need for the increasingly fraught business of
football management.
