As the announcement that the city of
London would play host to the 2012 Olympic Games
was made in Singapore on Wednesday 6 July, the
UK was opening an "Olympic Games" of another kind –
the International Children’s Games.
Recognised by the International Olympic Committee, the
International Children's Games 2005 is being held in Coventry, with
the University of Warwick as a principle sponsor and host for
the event.
The Games takes place from 6-11 July. Research-TV presents the
2nd of two video news releases with coverage of the
Games getting underway in Coventry. The VNR will also include
interviews with Coventry council leaders reflecting on the 2012
decision and what this means to the International Children’s
Games and the Midlands. There will also be interviews with
participating youngsters whose ambition is to represent their home
countries, whether the UK or elsewhere, when the 2012 Olympics
comes to London.
This news release is available to view on the International
Children's Games Website
The first video news release on the International Children's
Games was distributed by Research-TV on Tuesday 5 July 2005. A
broadcast studio is available on the University of Warwick campus
for broadcasters to organise individual interviews with
representatives from their countries.
